Creative ideas for weddings during Covid

Well here we are again chatting about Covid…yikes. This post is fun though, I promise! This is for the 2021 brides who are going forth with plans to get have an event celebrating their marriage in some way whether it’s a large wedding or an intimate gathering. Brides in general are looking for ways to incorporate safety measures but without looking apocalyptic and I totally get that. So today I thought it would be fun to show you ways to keep your guests safe that pass the pretty check and keep your celebration what it’s supposed to be. So here we go!

Signage

Signage for weddings is essential at any wedding in any year, but this year signage could look a little..eh…not so romantic. It can be super cute though, trust me! From Sanitize stations to social distancing guidelines, to other important need-to-knows for your guests you can be creative and fun! I’m loving these ideas below!

more tables-smaller groups.

Venues are being creative in this wild season of weddings and one thing I’m seeing that makes total sense is incorporating more guest tables but with smaller groupings of people. I love this because it’s smart, more intimate, and one of those measures you can put in place that doesn’t ruin the vibe of your day.

Spaced out ceremony

Similar to the more tables idea above and honestly, one of my favorite ideas is to space out ceremony seatings (perhaps in the same groupings as guest tables) Not only is this a super interesting ceremony idea look wise, but totally eliminates people being smushed together in traditional seating.

CUSTOM Masks

I know we all hate masks…yuck. Some guests will feel more comfortable wearing one though and I think it’s a really great idea to supply custom masks for those guests wanting one. Give me all the ways to personalize a wedding.

WELCOME BOXES

Such a special idea for out of town guests. Welcome boxes in this season can calm guest’s nerves, offer wedding weekend information and guidelines for your day so they are in the know, and include little hand sanitizer bottles among other things.

FOOD

Your caterer by now most likely has ways to safely serve your guest’s food so definitely brainstorm with them. One idea I’m loving is food trucks. I know I know it’s a little 2012, but it checks the box for social distancing guidelines, gets guests outside in the fresh air, and we all know the food will be delish. If food trucks aren’t your thing, I totally get it. I love the idea of stations for a wedding this year as well as plated dinners. Family- stye is probably the last option and buffets will need some tweaking but are still doable.

BRACELETS

This is a fun idea and honestly, I wish we would all walk around with colored bands so we could know everyone’s comfort level…right? This can eliminate awkwardness between guests and make guests feel more comfortable.

However, you are planning your wedding I want you to take a deep breath. You will have a magical day, I promise. I will be everything you hope it will be, I promise. I hope these fun ideas bring you some calm and help inspire you.

Warmly,

Michelle
