The Floral Gathering

Holy Moly this is happening! I'm so excited!! This has been months in the making and guys, I'm happy to say it's finally here. Meet the new addition to the One Sweet Day in May family partnered with the talented Lauren Thompson of So Lovely Wedding and Blooms....The Floral Gathering

A few months ago Lauren reached out to me about a potential workshop. We met, we discussed, and came up with a plan. This is a huge step for One Sweet Day in May. I've always been a believer in community and being open and a workshop is the perfect opportunity for like minded creatives to learn while being in an environment that is supportive and  welcoming.  Lauren and I feel like there is a need in our industry for a workshop that cover the essentials of floral design. The basic structure of a bridal bouquet, centerpieces, and tips and tricks of our trade. Along with the hands on side, we also felt that there was need to educate upcoming designers in the do's and don'ts. Things that we wish we had known when we first started out. We've been dreaming up this intimate and interactive workshop. To go along with a day of floral design we'll be serving the yummiest brunch complete with mimosas. Brunch and Blooms! Hooray!

So here we are. I'll be doing a happy dance all day. You can view our website here and and registration can be found here. We are only opening it to 10 lucky creatives to ensure an intimate environment and so we can shower each attendee with love. We have some amazing vendors involved that we can't wait to announce and we're seriously swooning over our sponsor list! More details to come so soon friends!

Happy Tuesday, hope it's a good one!

Love,

Michelle

One Sweet Fridays

Hi! So I'm not sure about where you live, but here in Richmond it almost feels like Fall! Hooray!  I'm writing this blog amidst the pillows and covers of my bed. Needless to say I'm having a lazy morning. Things will change up this afternoon though once a floral order arrives full of styled shoot pretties for Lovely Bubbly Events tomorrow. I'll show some behind the scenes over on IG and I can't wait to see how the gorgeousness unfolds. After that, this girl is getting ready to head up to Maine for the Working Retreat! I can't believe this trip is already here and I'm so ready for this "working vacation" with a few of my favorite creatives! I'll be there Monday-Thursday and you know I'll be posting way to many photos so be sure to  follow along on Instagram!

One Sweet Day in May Richmond Virginia Florist

And while I'm traveling up North on Monday something BIG will be happening back here at home! it's HUGE and to be quite honest I've never really been this scared and excited at the same time before. But without risk comes no reward, am I right? One Sweet Day in May has been changing and growing so much the past few months and everything has lead me to this moment and on Monday it will finally be time to let the cat out of the bag! Gahh. I'm dying over here from keeping this secret!! One hint...I've partnered with one of my favorite fellow industry ladies for something quite spectacular. DYING.

Featured- Style Me Pretty. Blush and Metallic inspiration

I was so excited that this past Friday Style Me Pretty featured this shoot I took part in last month with Annmarie Swift. The team over at Style Me Pretty put together the most gorgeous feature and I think I speak on behalf of all of us when I say how honored we all are. You can catch the link for the feature here, but you know I just had share more of the swoon-worthy images over here too.

This shoot was Annmarie's baby and her inspiration came from the beautiful Willowdale Estate. We added to the lushness of the surrounding foliage and vines, but wanted to make sure it was feminine with pops of blushes. Make sure to take a look at the cake table display! So many flowers!! This was my first time creating a floral frame and gosh did it turn out pretty!!

Many thanks again to Annmarie for inviting me up to her neck of the woods and letting me be a part of something so beautiful. It was an honor.
