Finally! I can finally recap The Floral Gathering from last month! Our very first floral workshop was the best day. As one half of TFG, I can tell you there were dozens and dozens of details that went into the making of this workshop and of course a little self induced pressure that comes with the territory. I can honestly say though as much as Lauren and I care about the styling and decor, fancy brunch, and intentional gifts, The Floral Gathering is really about giving creatives a jumping off platform into floral design. It's about giving attendees a safe and intimate space to ask any question they'd like, and to get a feel for what their unique designing style is. It's about being open and sharing our knowledge with newer designers. Our workshop is geared towards wedding planners who want to learn more about florals and floral designers who are just starting out. It's a day filled with education, beautiful blooms, and the sweetest of attendees. We started our day off with a yummy brunch (mimosas we of course on hand) and then got right into business with an education chat. We covered pricing, proposals, wholesale ordering tips. and other business strategies.
Then the fun really began. We dove in head first into designing techniques. Each attendee created lovely bouquets, boutonnières, and centerpieces. We had the prettiest palette of blush and cranberry tones. Peonies, garden roses, dahlias, evergreens, eucalyptus were our ingredients and gosh did we use them to their potential.
We were so lucky to have Sincerely Amy Designs on site and our attendees got a super intimate chalkboard lettering lesson! We love and will continue to have special guests teaching their trades to our attendees for each workshop. Such a fun way to break up the day.
We ended the day with one gorgeous winter styled shoot that the attendees got to watch come to life. One of my favorite parts for sure!
